How is it passed on?
Through unprotected oral, anal and vaginal sex and the sharing of sex toys.
Symptoms
Green or yellow discharge from the penis or vagina. Pain when weeing. Sometimes there are no symptoms.
What are the long term effects?
Can cause damage to women’s fallopian tubes (tubes from ovaries to the womb causing narrowing or blockages), making them unable to have children.
Can you get rid of it?
Yes, Gonorrhoea is easily treated with antibiotics but the damage that it does cannot always be repaired.
